Product Overview

The BWNFiber 48-fiber 4×12 MPO OM3 trunk cable terminates four MPO-12 PC female connectors on each end of an aqua bundled jacket. It gives existing OM3 plants a pre-terminated 48-fiber backbone between cabinets, panels and cassettes — no field splicing, no on-site polishing.

This is a 4×12 assembly, not a single MPO-48 ferrule and not an 8-fiber SR4 jumper. Each end lands on four standard MPO-12 ports, matching the Base-12 cassette hardware already deployed in most OM3 halls. Overall length runs 5-100 m with 0.3 m or 0.5 m end legs. For new builds that need longer 40/100G reach, the OM4 violet version (T1) is the higher-grade option.

Technical Specifications

Final insertion loss and return loss limits follow the BWNFiber test specification for the selected loss grade. Test method reference: IEC 61300-3-4.

Selection Guidance

• Polarity is not field-switchable. Choose Type A, Type B or Type C from the site drawing before ordering.
• Female (unpinned) ends mate with pinned cassette and panel ports; male (pinned) builds are quoted on request.
• State the end-leg length (0.3 m or 0.5 m) on the PO. It does not replace overall length.
• Jacket by space: OFNP for plenum, OFNR for riser shafts, LSZH for enclosed or public areas.
• Stay on OM3 when the existing plant is aqua; mixing OM3 and OM4 on one channel is not recommended.

Order Guide

This SKU is built to the ordered polarity and is not polarity-switchable in the field. Select the polarity from the site drawing, then overall length and jacket. End-leg length (0.3 m or 0.5 m) is stated separately on the PO.

Standard lengths: 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 m, in LSZH, OFNP or OFNR. Custom lengths between or beyond these steps, and pulling eyes, are quoted on the drawing.
