MPO 24 Fiber OM5 Trunk Cable
The BWNFiber 24-fiber MPO OM5 trunk cable terminates a single MPO-24 PC female connector on each end of a lime-green jacket. It is the Base-24 wideband multimode backbone for cassette and panel plants that standardize on the 24-fiber interface.

Product Overview
The BWNFiber 24-fiber MPO OM5 trunk cable terminates a single MPO-24 PC female connector on each end of a lime-green jacket. It is the Base-24 wideband multimode backbone for cassette and panel plants that standardize on the 24-fiber interface.
This is a true single-ferrule MPO-24 assembly — not a 2×12 bundle and not an 8-fiber SR4 jumper. OM5 wideband fiber keeps the plant ready for SWDM-based optics, but the jacket color alone does not make a link SWDM: the transceivers decide that. Overall length runs 5-100 m with Type A, Type B or Type C polarity built to the site drawing.
Key Features
- One MPO-24/PC female connector on each end — single 24-fiber ferrule
- 24 live fibers, OM5 50/125 μm wideband multimode
- Lime green jacket per OM5 identification practice
- Type A, Type B or Type C polarity built to the site drawing
- Base-24 structured cabling interface, not a 2×12 bundle
- LSZH, OFNP and OFNR jacket options
- 100% factory-terminated and optically tested before shipment

Final insertion loss and return loss limits follow the BWNFiber test specification for the selected loss grade. Test method reference: IEC 61300-3-4.
Selection Guidance
- Polarity is not field-switchable. Choose Type A, Type B or Type C from the site drawing before ordering.
- Female (unpinned) ends mate with pinned cassette and panel ports; male (pinned) builds are quoted on request.
- Choose this page when the plant is Base-24. If your cassettes take MPO-12 inputs, the 12-fiber OM5 trunk is the matching build.
- OM5 supports SWDM ecosystems, but SWDM operation depends on the optics, not the jacket color.
- Jacket by space: OFNP for plenum, OFNR for riser shafts, LSZH for enclosed or public areas.
Applications
- Base-24 OM5 structured cabling backbones
- Wideband multimode high-count interconnect between cassettes or panels
- Plants planning SWDM-capable multimode infrastructure
- High-density 24-fiber permanent links on single MPO-24 ports
Order Guide
This SKU is built to the ordered polarity and is not polarity-switchable in the field. Select the polarity from the site drawing, then overall length and jacket.
| Configuration | Part Number | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Type A | BWN-TK-M24-OM5-LM-A-{JKT}-{LEN} | MPO-24/PC (F) to MPO-24/PC (F) trunk, 24F OM5, lime green |
| Type B | BWN-TK-M24-OM5-LM-B-{JKT}-{LEN} | MPO-24/PC (F) to MPO-24/PC (F) trunk, 24F OM5, lime green |
| Type C | BWN-TK-M24-OM5-LM-C-{JKT}-{LEN} | MPO-24/PC (F) to MPO-24/PC (F) trunk, 24F OM5, lime green |
Standard lengths: 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 m, in LSZH, OFNP or OFNR. Custom lengths between or beyond these steps, and pulling eyes, are quoted on the drawing.
Why Source from BWNFiber
BWNFiber factory-terminates and inspects every MPO end before shipment, records polarity per order, and can attach IL/RL test reports for project handover. Catalog jackets cover LSZH, OFNP and OFNR; PVC, TPU and PE are quoted on project orders, together with OEM printing and labeling. Single-ferrule MPO-24 builds are kept separate from 2×12 bundled 24-fiber assemblies in naming and test records, so the received product matches the drawing. Send the interface, fiber type, polarity, jacket and overall length, and BWNFiber returns a build sheet before production.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as a 2×12 24-fiber trunk?
No. This page uses one MPO-24 ferrule per end. A 2×12 build splits the 24 fibers across two MPO-12 connectors per end and suits Base-12 hardware.
Is this an SR4 cable?
No. SR4 uses eight live multimode fibers. This is a 24-fiber Base-24 trunk for cassette and panel plants.
Does the lime green jacket mean the link runs SWDM?
Not by itself. OM5 fiber supports SWDM ecosystems, but SWDM operation depends on the transceivers installed at each end.
Which polarity should I order?
Polarity follows your channel plan. Type A, Type B and Type C are all built to order; confirm the cassette or panel method on the site drawing.
Can I get a male (pinned) version?
Female unpinned ends are the catalog default and mate with pinned cassette or panel ports. Male builds are quoted on request.
