The broader MMC portfolio lists multimode and additional jacket configurations. Treat those as project options until the exact trunk datasheet and drawing are approved.
When to Use an MMC Trunk
- Main or intermediate distribution-area backbone links
- Inter-rack and row-to-row fiber routes
- AI/GPU cluster aggregation links
- Pre-connectorized pathways requiring repeatable installation
- Projects that need a pulling eye to protect terminated ends during routing
Use an MMC jumper instead when the connection is short and requires only one MMC connector at each end. Use a breakout harness when the far-end equipment uses LC, SC or MPO rather than MMC.
Installation and Acceptance Checklist
- Measure the installed pathway and include the required service loop.
- Confirm the four-connector sequence at both ends.
- Specify fiber count, gender, polish and channel mapping.
- Confirm jacket rating against the facility and local code requirements.
- Define pulling-eye orientation, reel or packaging requirements.
- Agree on IL/RL limits, labels and test-report format before production.
Do not pull on terminated connectors. Use the approved pulling eye and observe the cable’s specified tensile load and bend radius from the final engineering drawing.
