Jumper vs. Trunk Cable
Choose an MMC jumper for short rack, adjacent-rack, cross-connect or laboratory links. Choose a pre-terminated trunk when the route spans distribution areas or requires multiple MMC connectors, longer installation lengths or a pulling eye.
Configuration Checklist
- Match the fiber count to the exact transceiver or panel interface.
- Confirm male/female gender at both ends.
- Define Type A, Type B, Type C or a custom channel map.
- Select UPC or APC according to the mating interface.
- Specify fiber type, length, jacket and labeling.
- Request an IL/RL report when project acceptance documentation is required.
Polarity labels alone may not capture every transceiver mapping. For nonstandard links, provide a channel map or equipment datasheet with the inquiry.

Ethernet speed does not by itself determine the connector or fiber count. Confirm the optical module interface and reach before choosing OS2 or multimode fiber.
