| Polish | UPC / APC |
| Form factor | VSFF multi-fiber |
| Intended use | Compatible MMC panels, adapters and cable assemblies |
Adapter mounting, port count, housing dimensions and color depend on the selected panel design. Include the panel drawing or mating-component part number with your inquiry so compatibility can be confirmed.
Male vs. Female MMC Connectors
A male connector contains guide pins; a female connector contains the corresponding guide-pin holes. The two mating interfaces must use a compatible male/female arrangement. Gender should be checked at both ends of the link rather than selected as an isolated cable option.
UPC vs. APC Polish
Use the polish specified by the optical interface and link design. APC is commonly selected where lower back reflection is required in single-mode links. UPC and APC interfaces must not be mated together. Multimode and single-mode configurations should also remain separate throughout the link.
MMC and MPO Compatibility
MMC is smaller than a standard MPO connector and does not plug into an MPO adapter. A migration design can use an MMC-to-MPO harness or a panel arrangement with the appropriate interfaces on each side. Confirm channel mapping and polarity before ordering any hybrid link.
