SJ-FTTH-MN-4A Fiber Optic Wall Plate – 1 Port SC/APC

The SJ-FTTH-MN-4A is an 86 × 86 mm fiber optic wall plate that terminates an indoor cable or FTTH drop cable and presents it as one SC/APC port on the wall. It gives FTTH installers a compact termination point for single-dwelling and multi-dwelling units: the drop cable is fixed and spliced inside the base, surplus fiber is stored behind the plate, and the subscriber connects with a standard SC patch cord. The housing is flame-retardant PC & ABS and fixes to the wall with screws.

Installation Notes

  • Fix the plate to the wall with the supplied screws; keep the incoming drop cable above its minimum bend radius inside the base.
  • Splice the drop cable to the pigtail or field-assembly connector inside the base, and coil surplus fiber without kinks.
  • Keep the adapter dust cap in place until the subscriber patch cord is connected.

What is a fiber optic wall plate used for?

It is the subscriber-side termination of an FTTH drop or indoor cable: the cable is fixed and spliced behind the plate, and the fiber is presented as a connector port on the wall, ready for a patch cord to the ONU or router.

Why SC/APC and not SC/UPC at the wall point?

Most PON-based FTTH networks standardize on SC/APC because the 8° angled end-face keeps reflectance low, which protects analog video and high-speed PON signals. UPC variants are available in the same family for enterprise cabling.

Does the plate include the adapter and pigtail?

Tell us your adapter type (SC/LC, APC/UPC) when ordering and we confirm the factory configuration on the datasheet.

Can it terminate a drop cable directly?

Yes. It accepts 2 × 3 mm FTTH drop cable and common indoor cables; the cable is fixed inside the base and spliced or connectorized behind the plate.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. It is an indoor wall plate. For outdoor demarcation points, use an IP-rated fiber termination box.

What is the difference between the MN-4A and MN-4D?

Both are 1-port 86-type plates; they are different faceplate designs (see the family table above). Projects usually standardize on one design across a building.
