Product Overview
This MPO 12 fiber OM3 to LC duplex breakout cable brings twelve fibers from one female MPO-12 interface to six LC/UPC duplex connections. It is intended for an OM3 distribution path that needs all six fiber pairs presented at LC ports. Confirm the mating connector and the complete fiber map before selecting the assembly for a cassette, adapter panel or equipment connection.
A twelve-position MPO interface does not establish the number of active channels or a transceiver breakout mode. This product is specified as twelve populated fibers. A four-channel SR4 connection uses a different lane assignment and must be checked against the equipment documentation; six LC duplex branches alone do not establish SR4 compatibility.
Key Features
- One MPO-12/PC female connector and six LC/UPC duplex branch connections.
- Twelve populated OM3 multimode fibers, specified as 50/125 μm in the supplied product record.
- Aqua jacket identification for the specified assembly.
- Six duplex branch positions for an approved panel or cassette port map.
- Overall length, branch geometry, jacket and polarity selected against a project drawing.
Specification notice: The interface, fiber and color description comes from the supplied product record. Final construction and available options are subject to BWNFiber confirmation before ordering.

Selection Guidance
Match the six-pair termination
| Required connection | Selection decision |
|---|---|
| Twelve populated fibers presented as six LC duplex pairs | Review this configuration against the mating interface and port map |
| Eight active fibers presented as four duplex pairs | Select an eight-fiber assembly after checking equipment lane assignments |
| Twelve independent LC simplex ends | Request the simplex termination build; do not assume the duplex clips are removable |
| A pinned MPO connector is required | Request the male configuration; this record specifies female |
| A shared-jacket LC uniboot construction is required | Request the uniboot build; it is a separate construction requirement |
Confirm the whole connection path
Female identifies the MPO connector’s unpinned state. Check the connector on the other side of the mating interface, its pin state and key orientation. An adapter housing does not by itself establish pin compatibility. Use a mating pair with compatible alignment pins and matching end-face geometry.
For a cassette installation, identify whether the assembly connects at the rear MPO port or forms an internal harness. Confirm space for the breakout transition, branch routing and LC orientation. The phrase “cassette harness” alone does not prove that a finished external cable will fit inside a cassette.
Approve a fiber map
Ask for a drawing that records each MPO position, the corresponding LC branch and the A/B side of each duplex pair. Include the viewing direction and key reference. A Type A/B/C label alone leaves room for different interpretations across the complete channel.
For background, consult the cassette harness port-mapping guide. The product drawing should carry the actual wiring used for this order.
Applications
- Presenting six OM3 duplex pairs from a compatible populated MPO distribution connection to LC adapter ports.
- Replacing an existing six-pair harness when connector type, pin state, fiber grade and wiring match the installed path.
- Preparing a panel or cassette assembly where the approved drawing defines branch lengths and port labels.
Network speed and reach depend on the transceivers, channel length, connection count and optical loss budget. Do not assign a 40G, 100G or other data-rate guarantee from the cable name or jacket color.

Length requests
The source lists the following nominal metric lengths. These are quotation candidates, not verified stock. Confirm the finished length tolerance and connector measurement points on the drawing.
| Length (m) | Approximate length (ft) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 3.28 |
| 1.5 | 4.92 |
| 2 | 6.56 |
| 3 | 9.84 |
| 5 | 16.40 |
| 7 | 22.97 |
| 10 | 32.81 |
| 15 | 49.21 |
| 20 | 65.62 |
| 25 | 82.02 |
| 30 | 98.43 |
| 40 | 131.23 |
| 50 | 164.04 |
Meters govern the request; feet are approximate conversions. Custom lengths, 0.9 mm branches, pulling eyes, staggered legs and private-label packaging require BWNFiber confirmation. MOQ, sample availability, price and lead time are quoted for the approved build and quantity.
Why Source from BWNFiber
Use this product record to define one consistent assembly for technical review and quotation. Send the same drawing revision, pin state, port map and acceptance requirements with every repeat order so that substitutions can be identified before approval.
Quality and acceptance documents
Request a drawing revision, material and connector identification, continuity and polarity record, and optical loss report linked to the supplied assembly or batch. Agree the test wavelengths, reference setup and pass limits before accepting results. No measured performance values or automatic inclusion of reports are claimed here; document availability requires BWNFiber confirmation.
Treat LSZH material requirements and OFNP/OFNR classifications as separate checks. Ask for the documentation applicable to the exact jacket construction and installation specification. Listing a standard number in a catalog is not proof of product certification.
See the MPO breakout and harness cable range to compare other fiber counts and branch formats.
For assemblies with different branch connectors, review the MPO/MTP breakout and fan-out product record. If the project needs a protected interface, use the IP-Series assembly record and confirm its environmental qualification separately.
