Description
MBN-FOSC-HB-16 Huawei Hub Box SC MPO IP68 Closure 16 Ports Fibre Access Terminal (FAT) with 16 Ports is a mechanically sealed pre-connection closure designed to terminate traditional optical cables as pre-connection optical cables. It is typically used for the feeder section and supports MPO QuickConnect feeder cable.
The first stage optical splitting FAT is located at the user access point of FTTH-ODN. It is used for connecting the distribution optical cables and drop cables, enabling direct connection, branching, and protection of optical fibers.
In addition to its primary functions, this pre-connected FAT has several other features and requirements that make it ideal for outdoor scenarios. These features include traditional straight-through cable holes and branch cable holes for routing and securing downstream optical cables. The FAT also has prefabricated drop cable holes that are compatible with outdoor applications and installed on the FAT panel using nuts or buckles. Each adapter is the entry port for a drop cable, and this outdoor adapter needs to be used with a specific pre-connectorized drop cable.
The Fiber Access Terminal (FAT) includes a splicing/fiber spooling unit that can splice downstream optical cables, optical splitters, or pigtails. The FAT also has an optical splitter fixing structure, with the output connector of the optical splitter inserted into the adapter installed on the FAT housing.
Additionally, digital information labels are printed on the shell surface to allow digital ODN management.Pre-connected FATs used in pre-connection scenarios are categorized as either above-ground or underground. Outdoor pre-connectorized FATs for above-ground applications are typically mounted on a wall or overhead. Outdoor pre-connectorized FATs used in underground scenarios are usually installed in manholes and handholes.
The operating temperature range for these FATs is -40 °C to +70 °C. The physical and chemical properties of all components should be stable, and the materials used should be compatible with each other and with the optical cable materials that may come in contact with the components and other materials of the OSP.
The shell should be made of non-metallic materials that can be used outdoors for a long time and should be able to resist fungi and UV light. The exterior metal components and fasteners of the shell should be made of corrosion-resistant materials such as SUS304 stainless steel.
The pre-connectorized Hub box has similar features, including a splicing/fiber spooling unit, traditional straight-through optical cable holes, prefabricated drop cable holes, and environmental protection for optical fiber and optical connectors.
For the first-stage optical splitting point, the Hub box is used, and multiple 1:2 optical splitters are required. The output connector of the optical splitter is inserted into the adapter installed on the case shell, while the input end of the optical splitter is spliced with the downstream optical cable.
