Where the MBN-FOSC-A11 Fits in an FTTH ODN
In a typical PON access network, the feeder cable from the OLT side is spliced inside the box, divided by the integrated PLC splitter, and routed to as many as eight subscriber drop cables through the SC/APC ports. This makes the MBN-FOSC-A11 the final distribution point before the last-mile drop.
The enclosure can be installed on a pole outside a residential cluster, on the wall of a multi-dwelling unit, or on an aerial strand along the drop route. Pre-terminated SC/APC drops connect directly at the adapter side, while conventional network builds can manage feeder and drop splicing inside the box.
Installation: Wall, Pole and Aerial Mounting
- Wall mounting: Fix the box through its rear mounting points and keep cable entries facing downward to reduce water tracking along the cables.
- Pole mounting: Use compatible project-specified banding hardware and position the enclosure so technicians can open the cover fully during splicing. Confirm the mounting hardware supply scope with the quotation.
- Aerial mounting: Secure the box to the strand and route feeder and drop cables with appropriate drip loops and strain relief.
- Before closing: Check that the rubber ring sits evenly in its groove, engage the clip locks uniformly and install sealing plugs in unused cable ports. Maintain the specified cable bend radius at every entry.
