MBN-PFC-67 Fiber Cleaver tool, featuring a versatile 3-in-1 Fiber Holder, accommodates 2.5-3.0mm jacketed fibers, 0.9mm pigtails, and 0.25mm bare fibers. It utilizes silica optical fiber and achieves a cleaving angle of ≤5 degrees for precise cuts. Cleaving lengths range from 9-16mm for 0.25mm coated fibers and 10-16mm for 0.9mm coated fibers. Designed for longevity, its blade can perform up to 48,000 cleaves. Operating Instructions:

Open the larger press plate, slide the tool rest towards you (or it slides automatically), exposing the smaller press plate.
Remove the fiber coating, leaving 30-40mm of bare fiber, and clean the bare fiber 2-3 times using a cotton ball soaked in anhydrous alcohol.
Insert the fiber into the guide slot using your left hand, ensuring the bare fiber length post-cut is between 5-20mm, as required by the fusion splicer or other fiber equipment.
Close the press plates in order, ensuring the fiber is perpendicular to the cutter. Slide the tool rest to cut the fiber. A “Bang” sound indicates successful cutting.
Holding the cutter in your left hand, open the larger press plate with your right hand. With your left fingers, hold the fiber and use your right hand to open the smaller press plate, then gently remove the cut fiber piece, ensuring no residue remains.

Maintenance and Adjustment Guide:

Blade Height Adjustment:

Loosen the height lock bolt.
Turn the height adjustment screw.
Tighten the bolt to secure the blade.

Blade Edge Rotation:

Loosen the bolt securing the blade.
Rotate the blade gently using a cotton swab or precision tweezers.
Retighten the bolt to secure the blade in its new position.
Blade Replacement:

Unscrew and remove the blade fixture bolt.
Remove the old blade with tweezers.
Install a new blade.
Secure the new blade by tightening the fixture bolt.

Using your left hand to hold the cutter, reveal the large pressing plate with your right; simultaneously, use your left hand to hold the fiber and reveal the little pressing plate. The fiber whose surface has been sliced should be carefully removed. Remark: The surface of the fiber should

be sufficiently uncluttered to exclude additional objects.

Simple upkeep and modification

Adjusting Blade Height:

A. Undo the bolt that locks the blade height.
B. Adjust the blade’s height by turning the adjustment screw.
C. Secure the blade by fastening the fixture bolt.

Replacing the Blade’s Cutting Edge:

A. Remove the bolt securing the blade.
B. Rotate the blade to a new edge using a cotton swab or precision tweezers.
C. Re-tighten the fixture bolt to secure the blade.
