Documented GYFXBY 2-12F Configuration Record

The P174 source record describes a GYFXBY flat, all-dielectric aerial fiber optic cable for 2-12 fibers. Its principal dimensions, mechanical fields, temperature ranges and optical values match the existing P162 GYFXBY record. BWNFiber should therefore treat P174 as a record-reconciliation input rather than a separate orderable product until engineering confirms the controlled model, revision and relationship between F0715 and F0661.

Optical Values Recorded in P174

The source lists maximum attenuation of 0.36 dB/km at 1310 nm and 0.21 dB/km at 1550 nm, plus additional geometric and dispersion fields. These are not a complete installed-link loss budget and do not include splice, connector, splitter or engineering margin. Publish them only after the fiber grade, source revision, test method and acceptance scope are approved.

Application and Approval Boundary

Use the GYFXBY record to prepare a configuration review, not to approve an aerial route from the model name alone. Before quotation or technical release, provide the exact fiber count, route and span schedule, wind/ice/temperature requirements, attachment and clearance conditions, clamp or hardware references, total and drum lengths, marking, quantity, destination and required documents.

Evidence Required Before Release

  • Controlled datasheet and revision.
  • Engineering-approved cross-section drawing and BOM.
  • F0715/F0661 relationship decision.
  • Fiber-grade and color-code specification.
  • Mechanical test methods, loads, duration and acceptance criteria.
  • Optical test method and acceptance scope.
  • Count-specific model/configuration map.
  • Packaging, marking, traceability and commercial confirmation.

RFQ Call to Action

Request a GYFXBY configuration and document review. Send BWNFiber the selected fiber count, route and span schedule, environmental requirements, hardware references, total and drum lengths, quantity, marking, delivery destination and required approval documents. BWNFiber should return the applicable controlled model, datasheet, drawing and quotation only after engineering confirms the requested configuration.

FAQ

FAQ for the Merged Owner

Is P174 a different GYFXBY product from P162?

The available records do not prove that. The two drafts share the same model family, count range and principal dimensional, mechanical, environmental and optical values. Engineering must reconcile F0715 and F0661 before one or two orderable configurations can be claimed.

Which fiber count should be ordered?

Select one approved count within the documented 2-12F range. Do not treat the range as one released part number; confirm the exact model code, drawing and table row for the chosen count.

Is this cable automatically suitable for any aerial span?

No. Route approval requires the span schedule, environmental loads, sag, attachment, clearances, cable tension and compatible hardware. A model name or tensile field alone is not a route design.

Does all-dielectric mean the cable is approved for every power-line environment?

No. Confirm the controlled construction and the actual electrical environment. IEC 60794-3-20 excludes certain high-voltage ADSS applications that require special tracking- and erosion-resistant sheath behavior.

What does MAT 1500 N mean?

The source uses the label MAT, but the supplied package does not define its duration, test method or design application. Treat it as TBC until BWNFiber engineering supplies the controlled definition.

What bend limits are listed?

The source lists 20 times cable diameter for dynamic bending and 10 times cable diameter for static bending. It separately lists a fiber macrobending test condition using a 60 mm diameter and 100 turns at 1550 nm. These are different conditions and must not be substituted for one another.

Are the attenuation values a complete link budget?

No. The stated cable/fiber values do not include connectors, splices, splitters or engineering margin. Build the installed-link budget separately.

Does a PE sheath prove UV, flame or low-smoke compliance?

No. PE is a material description. Any UV, flame, smoke, halogen or certification claim requires evidence for the exact configuration.

Can the watermarked image be used as an engineering drawing?

No. It is a product cross-section illustration. Keep its watermark and use it only for orientation; request a controlled drawing with dimensions, tolerances and revision status.

What should a buyer send for a quotation?

Send the exact fiber count, route and span schedule, environmental conditions, hardware references, cable and drum lengths, quantity, marking, destination and required datasheet, drawing, test and certificate documents.
