Keep one polish standard per link: never mate APC (green, 8° angled) with UPC (blue, flat) — the end-face geometries differ and forcing the connection damages both ferrules. Fiber: G657A bend-insensitive singlemode or customer-specified fiber.

Is a PLC splitter directional or powered?

It is fully passive and bidirectional — no power, no electronics. It divides optical power downstream and combines it upstream.
