What outlet does fiber optic use?

FTTH services terminate at a fiber optic wall outlet — called a PTO (prise terminale optique) in European specifications — fitted with SC/APC or LC adapters. The subscriber connects their ONT or router to the outlet with a standard fiber patch cord. This BWN-FTTR-4K-PTO socket is exactly that termination point.

Is this socket supplied pre-terminated?

No — it is an unloaded housing intended for field termination. Installers fusion-splice the incoming cable to pigtails or fit fast connectors, then snap in the adapters. If you need a factory pre-terminated outlet with pigtails and 30 m of cable, see the BWN-FTTR-4K.

SC or LC — which adapters fit?

Both. The socket accepts SC simplex or LC duplex adapters in 1, 2, or 4-fiber configurations, with color-coded 900 µm fiber positions (red, blue, green, yellow) to keep multi-fiber installations organized.

Can it mount inside a communication box?

Yes. Besides direct wall mounting (60 mm inter-axis), the housing clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail horizontally or vertically, matching DTIO-style communication boxes.
