Indoor Fiber Cable Indoor Fiber Optic Cable

Buyer summary

This record covers 8F OM3 multimode indoor fiber cable stock for MPO cable assembly production. It is not a finished MPO patch cord: connector type, ferrule layout, polarity, pinning and finished assembly length are separate quotation fields. Select one documented fiber and jacket configuration before requesting a quote.

Fiber and configuration options

The P188 source record lists two OM3 alternatives. OM3-150 is listed with EMB ≥950 MHz·km at 850 nm and a 10GBASE-SR distance of 150 m; OM3-300 is listed with EMB ≥2000 MHz·km at 850 nm, OFL ≥1500 MHz·km at 850 nm and a 10GBASE-SR distance of 300 m. These values are retained as source-record claims and require engineering confirmation before publication. Do not combine values from both rows in one quotation.

Jacket and application boundary

Choose LSZH or OFNR according to the project specification. The material or jacket label alone does not prove a building-code, flame, smoke or halogen rating. Request the exact declaration and test evidence for the selected configuration.

Interfaces and compatibility

This page describes cable stock for assembly production, not a connectorized assembly. MPO/MTP connector gender, pinning, polarity, ferrule layout, end-face finish and finished length are not determined by 8F fiber count and remain TBC — source required. If the buyer needs a finished trunk, patch cord, breakout or conversion assembly, use the appropriate MPO assembly page and provide the link diagram.

How to select the configuration

  1. Confirm that the required product is bulk 8F OM3 cable stock rather than a finished MPO assembly.
  2. Select one fiber option: OM3-150 or OM3-300.
  3. Select one jacket option: LSZH or OFNR, with the project-required rating evidence.
  4. Confirm 3.0±0.1 mm outside diameter against the entry port, clamp and routing space.
  5. State total length, length per roll, quantity, marking text and destination in the RFQ.
  6. Request the current datasheet, construction drawing and applicable test/inspection records before approval.

Differences from related products

  • 4F / 12F / 16F / 24F OM3 pages: different fixed fiber counts; do not substitute a sibling record in the RFQ.
  • 8F single-mode page: different fiber mode and grade; it is not an OM3 substitute.
  • 12F / 24F OM4 pages: different multimode grade and count.
  • MPO patch, trunk, breakout and conversion pages: finished connectorized assemblies with interface, polarity and length decisions; P188 is cable stock for assembly production.

Testing and document request

Current product-specific test method, equipment, acceptance limits, mechanical limits, temperature range, certification and reel-level report are TBC — source required. Add a datasheet/drawing/test-report download only after the exact files are approved and matched to P188.

Packaging and RFQ

The supplied record lists 1 km / roll. Ask the buyer to provide:

  • selected OM3 option;
  • selected jacket option;
  • total cable length and length per roll;
  • quantity;
  • cable marking text;
  • delivery destination;
  • required datasheet, drawing, rating or inspection evidence.

CTA

Request an 8F OM3 cable-stock quotation

Send the selected fiber option, jacket, length/roll plan, quantity, marking and destination. For a finished MPO assembly, include both end interfaces, connector gender, polarity/pinning and finished length.

FAQ

FAQ

Is this a finished MPO patch cord? No. It is cable stock for assembly production. Connector and assembly parameters must be quoted separately.

Does 8F define the MPO polarity or gender? No. Fiber count does not determine ferrule layout, pinning, polarity or gender.

Can LSZH and OFNR be combined in one order? Treat them as alternatives unless the approved product record explicitly defines a combined construction. Select one and have BWNFiber confirm the exact designation.

What cable size is listed? The P188 record lists 3.0±0.1 mm outside diameter. Confirm the complete profile before approving routing or clamp fit.

Which OM3 option should be quoted? Choose OM3-150 or OM3-300 from the approved source record; do not mix values from both rows.

What should be included in an RFQ? Fiber count, OM3 option, jacket, OD, total length, roll length, quantity, marking and destination, plus any required approval documents.
