12F OM4 Multimode Indoor Cable Stock — Violet, 3.0 ± 0.1 mm, LSZH or OFNR option
Buyer answer
This configuration is 12-fiber OM4 multimode indoor cable stock intended for MPO cable assembly production. It is not, by itself, a finished MPO trunk or patch cord. Connector type, gender, pinning, polarity, ferrule layout, end-face finish and finished assembly length must be defined separately when a connectorized assembly is required.

These are local BWNFiber source-record values under an open NEEDS REVIEW gate. They are not a field-performance guarantee, completed-link budget, fire-code approval or finished-assembly test result.
Technical disclaimer: Figures are local source-record limits for engineering review and reference only, not a guarantee of field performance or project approval. Confirm the approved model, datasheet, test basis and application conditions before quotation, production or installation.
What LSZH and OFNR mean in this order
Treat LSZH and OFNR as separate specification fields, not interchangeable synonyms. The order must identify the selected jacket construction and the exact project-required rating or test evidence. A jacket label alone does not establish acceptance by a local authority or prove a particular flame, smoke or halogen test result.
Interface and compatibility boundary
P192 defines cable stock, not an MPO interface. The 12F count does not determine:
- MPO/MTP connector gender or pinning;
- key orientation or Method A, B or C polarity;
- ferrule population or active lanes;
- end-face finish;
- equipment or transceiver compatibility;
- insertion loss or return loss of a finished assembly;
- finished length, breakout or pulling hardware.
For a finished MPO trunk, patch cord, breakout or conversion cable, provide the end-to-end link diagram and use the relevant MPO assembly configuration page.
How to specify this variant
- Confirm that the requirement is bulk 12F OM4 cable stock, not a finished MPO assembly.
- Confirm the approved customer-facing model or part number.
- Select the required jacket construction and provide the project rating requirement.
- Verify the 3.0 ± 0.1 mm outside diameter against the entry port, clamp, routing space and termination process.
- State total length, length per roll, quantity, cable marking and delivery destination.
- Request the current datasheet, construction drawing, fiber/jacket declaration and applicable inspection or test records.
Difference from related records
| Related record | Difference | Ownership rule |
|---|---|---|
| P130 — 12F or 24F MPO Fiber Optic Cable | Broad family owner covering 12F/24F and OM4 among other grades | Merge P192 as an exact OM4 variant unless a distinct SKU is proven |
| P189 — 12F OM3 indoor cable for MPO assemblies | Same 12F count, different multimode grade and color/configuration record | Keep OM3 intent out of the P192 variant module |
| P184 — 12F single-mode indoor cable for MPO assemblies | Same count, different fiber mode | Do not position as an OM4 alternative without a design review |
| MPO trunk / patch / breakout pages | Finished connectorized assemblies | Own connector, gender, polarity, mapping and finished-length intent |

- selected jacket construction and required project rating;
- required color and marking text;

Buyer questions
Is this a finished 12F OM4 MPO patch cord?
No. This record describes cable stock intended for assembly production. A finished patch cord or trunk requires connector, gender, polarity, end-face, length and test-limit fields.
Does 12F determine MPO polarity or gender?
No. Fiber count does not define pinning, gender, key orientation or the end-to-end channel map.
Are LSZH and OFNR the same requirement?
No. They must be handled as separate order and evidence fields. Select the required construction and ask for the exact rating or test documentation needed by the project.
What outside diameter is listed for P192?
The local record lists 3.0 ± 0.1 mm. Confirm it against the approved drawing before using it for clamp, conduit, gland or termination fit.
What attenuation values are listed?
The local record lists ≤3.5 dB/km at 850 nm and ≤1.5 dB/km at 1300 nm. These are cable-fiber values pending engineering confirmation, not a complete channel-loss budget including connectors and splices.
What bandwidth values are listed?
The local record lists OFL bandwidth of ≥3500 MHz·km at 850 nm and effective modal bandwidth of ≥4700 MHz·km at 850 nm. Confirm the approved fiber declaration before publication.
Can this cable be specified for a particular transceiver or Ethernet reach?
Not from the P192 record alone. Equipment compatibility and reach depend on the complete channel, active interface, connector system, loss budget and applicable design standard.
What is the listed packing format?
The current record lists 1 km per roll. Confirm availability, permitted cut lengths and shipping packaging when the quotation is prepared.
What documents should be requested before approval?
Request the current model datasheet, construction drawing, fiber and jacket declaration, dimensional and mechanical limits, applicable rating evidence and the agreed inspection or test record.
What information belongs in the RFQ for a finished MPO assembly?
In addition to the cable-stock fields, state both end interfaces, connector gender, polarity/keying, fiber-to-port map, finished length, breakout details and optical acceptance limits.
